At Crawley Town Community Foundation, our aim is to support all sectors of the community, with ensuring we provide a variety of services to all ages.
Through our EFL Extra Time Hubs provision and local partnerships we deliver a range of different sessions to cater for all abilities and preferences. Especially the older age ranges, through our Active Ageing sessions, providing support through a variety of sessions delivered in Crawley throughout the week.
Starting with our Wednesday Walk & Talk session, from 10:30am to 11:30am at different locations around Crawley, our participants take part in wellbeing walks, giving them a chance to get active and make friends whilst doing so. All abilities are welcome and a tea or coffee stop always follows the session.
On Thursdays, in partnership with Sussex Cricket Foundation and Crawley Borough Council, we deliver Crawley Sporting Memories.
Hosted at Crawley Museum, these weekly clubs are aimed at anyone over the age of 50 who love to reminisce about either playing or watching sport, especially our PE lessons at school, which we either loved or hated. Sporting Memories Clubs are welcoming, friendly and free to attend with sessions offering people the chance to get together with like-minded people, make new friends and have fun.
If you are interested or know someone who would benefit from this memory-based session, come along and join us at Crawley Museum every Thursday from 10-11.30am – we look forward to hearing all about your Sporting Memories whether it be participating or watching sports.
Our main and biggest event for the week is our Friday Extra Time Hubs from 11:30am to 1:30pm at The People's Pension Stadium. This session is hosted in the Mayo Wynne Baxter Suite, with lots of indoor activities, when the weather allows you can take part in a walk around the pitch and special guests from organisations around Crawley, with plenty of teas & coffees and biscuits!
During this session we also have a physical activity session, Walking Football from 12pm - 1pm. Walking Football is our weekly walking football session for adults aged 50+. The programme gives people the opportunity to meet new people and socialise.
First session for our Friday Hubs is free, from then it is £3. Please feel free to invite a friend or neighbour along! We welcome all carers to attend with those they care for at any sessions.
