Return of Move the Goalposts

Wednesday 26th May saw the return of our popular mental health programme, Move the Goalposts, following the need to pause delivery, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Move the Goalposts is our personal development programme for those 18+ experiencing or at risk of experiencing mental health difficulties and is open to all, no referrals are necessary.

The programme will look a little different moving forward, as the session is now a 1-hour outdoor football session, with the aim of expanding our Mental Health delivery into other new programmes we have been launching since restrictions have eased.

The session will be returning at The People’s Pension Stadium, on the 3G Ballcourt, opposite ‘Redz Bar’ from 3pm to 4pm every Wednesday.

Darren Ford, Head of Foundation said, “Prior to the pandemic, Move the Goalposts was a very popular session and had such a positive impact on our participants. The past year has affected all of us at some point, with mental and physical wellbeing being highlighted nationally and if we can provide opportunities for the community to access our programmes, to support their own needs, it can only be a good thing. We have plans to expand our provision and provide a range of sessions to engage with the wider community, therefore strengthening our commitment to continue to support those who need it.”

Due to Covid-19 guidelines, places are limited and we would recommend signing up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as numbers are capped until restrictions ease.

All equipment will be cleaned and disinfected prior to and after each session, with access to hand sanitiser at the beginning and the end of the session.
