Introducing our New Goalkeeper Session

Could your child be the next Glenn Morris?

Crawley Town Community Foundation are pleased to announce the launch of a new session, specifically aimed at Goalkeepers at The People's Pension Stadium.

These sessions are open for girls and boys, aged 7 to 16 years, who have an interest in developing their skills as a Goalkeeper, focussing on learning correct techniques and developing their decision making as the last line of defence. Participants will be split into different age groups within the session.

Kayleigh Bowers, Football and Sports Development Manager said, “We are delighted to be able to offer specialist training for young, local goalkeepers looking to progress and further their development. Lots of Goalkeepers will not receive specialist training at their grassroots club, so we are opening this session up to all GK’s in the local area.”

Glenn Morris, Crawley Town FC Goalkeeper, said this about being a keeper - “Being a goalkeeper is the hardest position on the pitch but the most rewarding. I started when I was 3 years old and has been all I ever wanted to do since.

You have to be fearless and have a will to keep the ball out at any cost. There’s no better feeling than stopping the opposition from scoring. Practice and learning from a goalkeeper coach are key, whilst having fun and enjoying yourself!”

Sessions will run every Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm on the 3G Ball Court behind the People’s Pension Stadium, opposite the Redz Bar.

All equipment will be cleaned and disinfected prior to and after each session, with access to hand sanitiser at the beginning and the end of the session.
