We are pleased to announce the publication of our 2020/21 Annual Report, demonstrating the work during the past season/year in numbers and good news stories.
Our mission at Crawley Town Community Foundation, is to use the power of sport and football to engage, inspire and empower people. Working with participants and the community, together with local, regional and national partners, we aim to positively change lives and support people in health & wellbeing, sports participation, equalities and inclusion, education, enterprise, employment and skills, regeneration and community safety.
This past year has seen the widest age range for participants involved in the Foundation’s history and we are proud to say we now support participants across the ages of 2 to 100 years of age.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, we were able to support 1500 participants across all departments, with over 40,736 contact hours during the past year through online sessions and face-to-face sessions as restrictions eased.
These online sessions included virtual lessons and training sessions for our Education Academy, virtual Premier League Primary Stars homework support sessions and Elite & Development Q&A evenings with Crawley Town First Team players & guest speakers for our Schools & Football Development team. As well as the launch of our Tackling Loneliness Together programme, as well as Virtual Coffee Mornings for Extra Time Hubs and online FIFA tournaments for our Premier League Kicks participants as part of the Community Development Programme.
During the eased restrictions, the National Citizen Service was able to deliver a Covid safe programme, alongside Football Development’s 1-to-1 sessions, the Education Academy’s pre-season friendlies and Community Developments relaunch to PL Kicks and Youth Centre support session.
Darren Ford, Head of Foundation, said this about the past year, “As an organisation we have worked hard to continue to provide a range of services to ensure we are meeting the needs of the community and addressing some of the issues caused or accelerated by the pandemic.
In accordance with the restrictions placed upon us, we were able to harness the power of technology, in particular the use of online platforms to deliver sessions and continue to attend meetings, all of which are still part of our routines. The use of technology enabled all departments within the Foundation to engage with participants and maintain contact with them, to ensure they were able to have the support they had been accessing prior to the pandemic.”
As an organisation we are proud of our efforts in supporting the Crawley community through the pandemic, and we are delighted to have received recognition. In 2020, the Foundation was awarded, the Crawley Community Group of the Year, as well as Crawley Coronavirus Community Champion, as recognition for our EFL Tackling Loneliness Together programme.
With all programmes now up and running, we are excited to see what is to come for the 2021/22 year, for more information or to view the full report visit - www.ctcommunityfoundation.com/
